⚡️And today the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (for the museum!) was given the flag of Belarus, which was raised at the Earth's cold pole - the inland station Vostok. This event happened for the first time in the history of independent Belarus! The flag of the Belarusian Antarctic expedition was also raised at the cold pole.
"Our expedition member Vladimir Nesterovich raised the Belarusian flag at the Earth's cold pole. He took part in inland sled-caterpillar expeditions to the Russian station Vostok. We sent him to gain experience in long-distance expeditions and work with equipment. He successfully passed this most severe test. These expeditions are comparable to a flight into space. At the Vostok station, the temperature during the season ranges from minus 60 to minus 75 degrees," said Alexey Gaidashov.
